Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

101How do I install an upgrade of DWR?
The recommendation for an upgrade procedure is as follows:

  1. Launch your Digital WarRoom Application and go to Help » About and note the version of software you currently have installed
  2. Close your Digital WarRoom Application
  3. Backup up your entire DWR directory (default is your largest drive C:\DWR)
  4. Download the proper upgrade installer, from http://www.digitalwarroom.com/store/download/ . Please keep in mind that you will need to know if you have a 32 bit or 64 bit computer.
  5. Right click “run as administrator” over the installer you just downloaded.
  6. After installation is complete launch Digital WarRoom and open each of your existing matters. The tool will ask if you want to upgrade to the new version, click “Yes”.

Installation & Licensing

201I received the following message: Installation error 2753. PNSETUP.EXE IS NOT MARKED
Delete the existing DWR shortcut and manually create a new one. If that does not work, try running DWR repair from your install media and then try to remove or reinstall If you are having issues with a removal, try manually deleting the DWR folder and peernet folder along with the user temp folder before re-running the installer to repair.
202 How do I obtain additional reviewer licenses.
Simply go to http://www.digitalwarroom.com/store/product-list.php?pg1-cid2.html&id=3 Login to you account Add the number of Designate 12 Month Stationary Licenses (Reviewers) you like and check out. You will be emailed your license key which you will add by going to designate as the admin. Then go to Help » Activate in the menu and copy/paste the additional key in. You can check out your license status by going to http://localhost:1947 on the review server and then selecting Product » Features to see you license(s) status.
203I received the message: NO valid license is found
1) if you use the dongle that comes with DWR PRO FLEX, it is likely that the dongle has been moved, or 2). If you have a soft key the license could be exceeded (for example, 3 concurrent users when the license is for only 2) OR the period has expired (day 366 of a 365 day license.) To see your license status at any time, open a web browser on your digital WarRoom web server and paste go to http://localhost:1947
204I received the following message: Installation error- 1721. There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package
To resolve this issue – Run the DWR installer by right-clicking “Run as administrator” on the Setup.exe file
205I received the following message: Installation -key is not valid or not found
This may have occurred after you have entered a valid key. The user server may be behind a firewall and cannot communicate with our licensing server (only need to do once). You are going to have to generate a special key per attached email
206I am experiencing a variety of issues when installing SQL EXPRESS.
You may have had a version sql installed earlier that was not completely installed. Try uninstalling SQL express and using a registry cleaner such as cc cleaner.

Processing

301I received the following error message while processing documents: “this method is not available due to the document being protected”
After starting a production or during Pre-Imaging, word documents were not converting. While the fix is simple, you will be overwriting the original document. EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION AND EXECUTE ONLY THE STEPS THAT ARE LISTED. 1.)Open the offending document. If your version of Office is not yet activated do so now. 2.)For documents that ARE NOT password protected: Click on the Review Tab in Word or Excel > Protect Document > Uncheck either Restrict Formatting and Editing or Restrict Access. 3.) Click File Save as. THIS STEP WILL OVERWRITE THE ORGINAL DOCUMENT ENSURE NO OTHER EDITING HAS TAKEN PLACE. 4.)Select the document you just saved and flag it for re-conversion. 5.)Repeated as necessary NOTE: add a comment to the comment field for this document describing what you have just done outside of the DB.
302I am having a problem loading documents. While trying to load an .nsf file, Error Notes stated the file was corrupted. While opening in Lotus Notes, an error came up stating that the file was Encrypted
You will need to have the file decrypted by the provider or go to “http://www.securase.com/” and obtain the decryption protocol from the provider.
303I have DWR Pro.  Is there anyway I can take advantage of OCR sent to me by client without upgrading to DWR WorkGroup?
As long as the OCR is in the same folder as and named exactly the same (except for the extension of the ocr must by .txt) you should be able to process and load the file with Policy  as  normal.  If you look at the .tif file in the Review Browser tab, there should be an OCR tab (it should be between the Native tab and the History tab)   This should be the OCR that is next to the images in your import.  You can filter in “attributes” when you review these documents and deselect (or block) the .txt files.
304I am processing documents and need assistance fixing or converting a load file.
We recommend that you use a 3rd party load file conversion app such as iPro iConvert http://www.iprotech.com/Products/IPRO-IConvert/ to convert and/or QC a load file
305What is the maximum size of a collection to be processed?
There is no real maximum size.  However, you may be limited by the hardware and network environment you are using. As a rule of thumb, try to process data sets that end up no larger than about 100,000-200,000 files (after expanding all the mailboxes and zip files).  This may be hard to gauge at first. However, a single 5 gig PST could contain over 10,000 files (emails and attachments).
306What format should we ask for when we receive adverse party data? Also, what format should I use when having my own documents scanned?
The recommended delivery would be similar to that for loading into concordance:

  • Multipage tiff
  • Concordance . dat and opt Load file
  • Any manually  keyed in information (document title, date ect) is loaded in the format of the attached .dat file
  • With or without OCR (you can OCR yourself in DWR)
  • OCR file located in the same volume as the tiff image with same file name as the image.txt.
307When I am processing or producing documents, I receive a data execution prevention error.
Microsoft DEP shuts down trunkserv (ocr) or other process associated with DWR. We recommend that you run (http://systadmin.wordpress.com/2011/03/22/ehow-disable-dep-data-execution-prevention-on-windows-server-2008-and-windows-server-2008-r2-and-windows-vista/) and reboot. It’s greyed out now so it now should be disabled.
308I received this error when processing: “Processing failed on collection could not find file ” and the file name had all zeros for the Hash value.
This could be a possible EFS or another type of Encryption.  Do a search in the collection folder for green colored file names denoting EFS encryption.
309What do I need to do to process NSF files?
First you must have the lotus notes client installed on the processing box (trial copy is ok). http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/downloads/ls/lsndad/ Please note: Some administrators create artificial NSF (almost like an Outlook EDB)  for export that may require preprocessing to  break backup into digestible mailboxes.
310When processing, I received the following message: “can’t access the NSRL database.”
You can uncheck de-nisting if you are in pinch 1) make sure you have a NSRL db 2) if your user does not have permissions to the db you can make it a read/write db.
311I received the following message: “Nsf processing failing part II.”
It is possible that you have encountered ‘synthetic’ NSF message stores created by IT teams which can be problematic and/or have bad or missing meta –data. You may also have run into archive issues where Domino server may use a 3rd party tool to auto archive old attachments. We have seen 3GB and 5GB and 10 GB notes store. You may need to use a 3rd party tool or service to break into appropriate nsf or pst for processing.
312I am trying to process NSF and no messages are being extracted.
First, check whether you have notes 8.5 or greater installed (demo version ok). Then  try and open a copy of the nsf  in Notes.  Next try and convert to a PST with transcend migrator or other tool. IIf there is still a problem with the PST, we suggest you use notes to break it apart and try and get around the problem emails.
313Processing failed and I receive the message: “You are not authorized to use…set AuthKey.”
AuthKey is a security feature of the Redemption library. This library provides access to the properties, functions and objects within Microsoft Outlook. All Redemption objects have an AuthKey property. If enabled, an “access key” value is securely stored.  All subsequent calls to the Redemption objects must set have the AuthKey value set to the same access key before permission will be granted.  Once the AuthKey property is set to some value, all Redemption objects must set the AuthKey property to the same value before any other properties can be used. If some other application is installed on the user’s system and is also using the Redemption library, it may have already set AuthKey. Unless you know the key, your application will not be able to use Redemption objects. The solution is to use the customization tool that comes with the redistributable version of Redemption to create a custom copy for use by your application, with its own AuthKey. This is a very manual process, and requires intervention on the part of the system administrator.  If you want to change the value of the AuthKey property, you need to first set it to the old value (so that Redemption knows that you are a legitimate user), then reset it to a new value, or  you can delete HKCU\Redemption registry key (note a couple of odd looking characters – Redemption uses a Unicode name to make the key inaccessible to the scripts). Note: This will stop other version of Redemption for running, and should not be done without understanding the impact to other applications. Details are on the Redemption web site (http://www.dimastr.com/redemption).
314I have a very large collection. Can I build indexes by custodian and not the collection?
Yes contact DWR support to assist you dwrsupport@digitalwarroom.com
315ADD ADVERSE PRODUCTION-how do I map concordance load file to DWR meta data fields
DWR DATA COLUMN’S: 1.) Beginning Bates 1st bates number for a particular document 2.) Ending Bates last bates number for the same document 3.) Custodian who the document is mapped to (could be a department or location) 4.) Family ID for documents that are associated together (email + attachments or from the same zip file) 5.) Extension Files extension 6.) Title Document name (subject for email) 7.) Locus Location of data on disk when processed 8.) Created  date (OS) 9.) Modified  date (OS) 10.) From  11.) To  12.) CC Copy to 13.) BCC Blind Copy to 14.) Sent On Date email sent 15.) Received  Date email received 16.) Message ID  of  email 17.) Thread ID of emails in thread 18.) NativeFilePath Location of native file in a production (if produced natively) As far as mapping to what you received from a provider in a concordance format, you will often have to work that out with the provider.  “Date” from concordance, could be created date or it could be the date the documents where imaged or a mix of dates.  Beg and End ATTACH do not map directly to family.  Some providers use it to denote emails with attachment unless there is no attachment.  Others use the field for all emails regardless of attachments.
316While processing, i received one of the following messages: EVENT : ’646′ is not a supported encoding name. (1 item) EVENT : Access violation at address 000007FEEED16914 in module ‘olmapi32.dll’. Read of address 0000000000000000 (202 items) EVENT : Corrupt or invalid container (30 items) EVENT : Corrupt or invalid container item (1 item) EVENT : Could not find file (6 items) EVENT : Delimiter error (4 items) EVENT : Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component. (3 items) EVENT : Not a legal OleAut date. (17 items) EVENT : Potential virus in file. File not processed. (16 items) EVENT : Processing error (63 items) EVENT : Unrecognized encoding (116 items) EVENT : Zero length message detected (1 item)
Exceptions typically fall into 2 categories: 1) Catastrophic exceptions (corrupt PST) that cause a file to be not processed and hence not able to be posted for review.  For these files, determine if they meet your matter requirements (i.e. data cutoff) and save out, attempt to repair (or password crack) or in the case of unsupported file type (i.e. EDB) pre-process with a 3rd party application and then re process with DWR. 2) For other file types (and this may not always be evident) you may have processed the file with errors (i.e. parent email) but had an issue with the file (i.e. the attachment in the  (‘olmapi32.dll’ example).  For these files, you may need to post the emails into review and determine if you need to further triage the file they came out of to attempt to extract the attachment.
317While processing using DWR Pro, I received the following error “Processing Failed- Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {29131539-2EED-1069-BF5D-00DD011186B7} failed due to the following error: 80004005 Unspecified error (Exception from HRESULT: 0×80004005 (E_FAIL)).
This error indicates that Lotus Notes may be installed but that Notes is having problems loading a Domino dll.  In some cases, you may have, for example, Lotus Notes 7.0.3 installed. You may either uninstall Notes or install the 8.5 upgrade from IBM to solve the problem.
318While processing using DWR Pro, I received the following error…Unable to start collection processing
Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {EBC7A7B5-C614-47B3-A579-27A2C2C98A13} failed due to the following error: 80040154 Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0×80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)).
Possible Resolution
This error message is likely the result of conflict with a previous (or existing version) of Redemption. One possible resolution is to re-register Redemption

To re-register Redemption for Digital WarRoom, do the following:
Open command window (Start button » Run » CMD)
From the command window, run these commands in this order:

  • CD /D “”C:\Program Files\Digital WarRoom LLC\Pro\Redemption”" ***
  • REGSVR32 /U Redemption.dll
  • REGSVR32 /U ProfMan.dll
  • REGSVR32 ProfMan.dll
  • REGSVR32 Redemption.dll

Close command window.
***location of Redemption sub directory may vary depending upon where you installed Digital WarRoom.

SQL

401I received the following error: SQL error on launch “SQL could not load….Microsoft.sql server…public key token.
One possible cause of that message is that additional configuration may be required.  For proper configuration of a machine running DWR Workgroup but not SQL Server, and from which the user wants to create a new matter (pointing at a machine that is running SQL Server), SQL Server connection client patches are required.  To remedy this, install SQLSysClrTypes.msi and then SharedManagementObjects.msi (in that order).  These are available for download from the Microsoft website.  For example, here is the download page if you’re running SQL Server 2008: https://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=3522
402When I installed SQL or SQL Express, I receive the message: no remote access permissions.
When you are trying to create or find matter and you get a no remote access allowed error, you need to enable  TCIP connections AND Named Pipes in SQL.  You can go « MS SQL « Configuration Manager « SQL Server Configuration Manager « the instance you want to connect to Enable both types AND restart SQL
403I am trying to create a new matter, however, DWR prompts me for a password but the fields for username and password are inactive.  Is there any way to work around this?

In this case, the User installed SQL Express with Mixed Mode authentication and the user’s domain profile is not added as sys admin on the SQL server.  You need to install Management Studio and add the user as a local SQL sys admin OR uninstall reinstall SQL Express with proper permissions.
404I need to change setting but don’t have access in SQl Express.
When an advanced users wants to change DB settings ( permissions, instance name, etc.) but doesn’t have access in sqlexpress you will need to install SQL Express management studio for SQL Express 2008 http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=7593
405I would like to uninstall SQL Express.
If you uninstall SQL Express and install SQL Workgroup, it will result in corrupt registry. We recommend you try a registry cleaner such as cc cleaner. Please note that the SQL Express uninstall must fully remove SQL if you want to avoid trying to install Workgroup.
406Why can’t I connect to a database on an other computer?
You likely don’t have access permissions to the database server (workgroup) computer.  Try the following steps: 1)make sure you can see the computer with DB 2)make sure you are typing the correct instance of the DB in the server box ( i.e. databaseservername\dwrpro) 3) on the database computer, run management console to make sure you have access to the DB AND the database is setup to accept remote connection.
407I need to modify user permissions in SQL, how do I do that?
You need to download and install SQL Express Management Studio (free). NOT R2. http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=7593

Policy

501I am posting data and/or assigning custodians and no data moves into review?
It is likely that either your posting policy has resulted in no data qualified to be moved into review (even though you assigned it to a custodian) or processing your collection resulted in NO files being generated (corrupt files or all OEM and got de-nisted) or, you do not have access to the temp db.  Check in SQL management console if you are set as an owner of the temp db.

Review (Designate)

601What types of document dates can I review?
Digital WarRoom (DWR)  presents 5 dates that you can select for your review columns (remember to re-launch DWR once you have changed your view).  You can hover over the top of each column in DWR for more descriptions once you have added them (modified, created, sent, received, transmitted).

602How do I view extended document metadata?
If you are using QVP 11 Professional (but not Standard), you can turn on a meta data filter to display extra meta data available.
603In Review mode, I run, for example, an Attributes filter to return all files of various types. I then “pin” various field headers and arrange fields in the Review window order that I desire.  I move some fields to the far right, others more to the center, others “pinned” to the left, why is that?
If you encounter issues with profile-specific settings, they are often resolved by deleting the entire contents of this folder: C:\Users\[profile name]\AppData\Local\Digital_WarRoom_LLC.  Do that, then configure the desired column settings one more time in DWR.
604Why can’t I view documents in the browser?
First, you need to confirm that you have Quick View Plus installed and ensure that it is not the free trial version. you can use other viewers.  However, we do not test with them.  Another option is for you to try Office or Office viewers, however, you will need to configure them manually. For 64 bit users, Acrobat does not yet support running out of a browser on your machine yet. You will need to use QVP to review pdfs
605When I use Designate, the font size on images appears small. How can I change that?
You can right click and zoom on view.
606I can’t find attachments that came from a zip in an NSF loose file.
You can sort by path and you will see the attachment name. lso you can run an advanced search with zip in path name.
607When using Designate, the filter by extension does not appear to be working.
If you have more than 1000 file extensions in review, filtering by extension or ext group will not work. If you have more than 1000 file extensions in review AND you want to filter by extension, you must either: 1) go into policy editor and remove extension you are not interested in OR 2) use the filter column to sort your results by extension.

Produce

701I am starting a production and I get a permission error when I run a production.
You don’t have permissions to control your c:. You may try giving “everyone” permissions to C: For users running Windows 7, you may try turning off UAC.
702I have to abandon a production I did improperly, is there any way to preserve the files in the production before I abandon it?
Yes, in Productions do the following: 1)select all of the rows in the files view (control A).  2) paste into a spread sheet. 3) copy out the id column (with the column header) into a text edit like Text pad. 4) use in text pad the Edit » Join line function to get rid of HRT. 5) control C control V (cut and paste) the entire list of IDs into the Advance search in review (Doc ID IN).
703I don’t know why my production does not complete endorsement since there are no endorsement errors?
It is very likely you have some files with a Zero page count (sort by page [not by estimated page]. You can turn off de-blanking, re-image those 0 page documents and restart.  You will have to resequence if you decide to remove any of the zero page documents.
704I can’t find attachments that came from a zip in an NSF the are loose files.
You may want to use a different viewer like Alternatiff so that the “native” tifs use that viewer in the Native tab and avoid the image tab altogether.
705I am having a problem with overlaying metadata in an adverse production. Certain columns that are present in the load file are simply not showing up in the list view. Also others, for example the modified date are being ignored (DWR seems to be using the date on the file as opposed to what is specified in the load file). There were no real issues that could be seen in loading the production and each field was mapped in the load file prior to starting the process.
Concordance compliant load files with a begbates built as: alphaprefixPAD00BATESNO are acceptable i.e. and the tool should be able to parse out the Bates prefix (enron), the bates padding (7) and the bates number (1). The dash – is not needed for this delineation. We recommend trying the meta data overlay to remap the .opt. The .dat file MUST also be in the same folder as the .opt file you. Use the begbates column as your key. þBEG BATESþ þEND BATESþ þENRON-00000001þ þENRON-00000001þ
706Imaging says it is complete with errors, however, I don’t see any errors.
It is possible that some of them were generated during pre-image.  ggest either : 1) go to pre-imaging step and select clear errors 2) select ALL the documents that have not imaged yet (sort the C column) and select all of them that have  a phase of “draft” for re-imaging 3) resequence by going through the setting wizard (no changes required)
707In production, I received a “Document not Found ERROR”
If you encounter “document not found” while trying to image a production, check to see if you flagged the document for re-imaging in another draft production. This would have deleted the image already created in the cache (this does not occur once you have finalized a production).
708How do I fix a load file that I already loaded and now the other side sent me a fixed one?
There should be no danger in coming back later and changing your adverse production mapped metadata.  You can use the metadata overlay, after you processed  and mapped a load file or, more commonly, you identify deficiencies in the original load file and have the other side resubmit.  Simply right click over the Adverse production in the Productions tab, determine what they used for a delimiter, key in one of their columns with one of yours (preferably BEG BATES) and that will work. Also, when you get suspect data or load files from the other side, consider setting up a “sandbox” matter in DWR, where you can play around with the data\load file before you load it into your production environment.
709In the print to image settings, can I change what application prints tiffs?
HTMLs will always print with IE regardless of print to settings. We suggest you try Irfanview to print TIFs if possible — it may be faster than Windows image viewer.
710I receive the following error when producing documents: “you are attempting to open a file type that is blocked by your File Block settings in the trust center.”
This could be a word or other office file type. Simply go into the office type (i.e. word), options, trust center, trusted locations and add c:\dwr (assuming that is your location)
711I am unable to configure peernet printer it says “access denied.”
If you have already tried the permission troubleshooting, the PEERNET spooler may have not installed.  Check services to see it has been installed and is running and your user has permissions to the service. Make sure you have  C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64\3\PNSvc9.exe C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3\PNSvc9.exe If you do, please run this from a command line and see if it installs the PEERNET Print Spooler 9 service or if it generates an error. If there si an error, we can send that information to PEERNET and hopefully get a prompt response. CD C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64\3\PNSvc9.exe /service
712I get the message “Peernet can not open printer” or similar Peernet dialog, such as “can not find” or “peernet is missing or in wrong place ” or “can not access” user does not permission to add or delete printers.
Peernet may have been uninstalled or deleted accidentally from the printer list.  Uninstall and then Reinstall DWR by right clicking over the printer.  If you cannot delete the printer, you are missing some network permission to install and delete printers.  If you can delete the printer then reinstall DWR Printer: Find the Install_DWR_Printer.BAT in C:\Program Files\PEERNET and run in a command window.  This will reinstall the printer and the Digital WarRoom Printer should appear as described above.  We recommend starting a production to test.
713Multiple windows are opening and asking if I want to place my images in MY documents folder.
In this case, you : 1) don’t have windows permissions to the root of your c: or 2) windows UAC won’t allow peernet to place the images in the root of c: (Note: Disabling UAC will lead to a less secure system, so be warned. To disable UAC on Windows Vista: Open up Control Panel, and type in “UAC” into the search box. You’ll see a link for “Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off.” On the next screen, you should uncheck the box for “Use User Account Control (UAC)”, and then click on the OK button. You’ll need to reboot your computer before the changes take effect. To disable UAC on Windows 7: Windows 7 makes it much easier to deal with UAC settings, and in fact you don’t have to completely disable UAC if you don’t want to. Just type UAC into the start menu or Control Panel search box. You can simply drag the slider up or down, depending on how often you want to be alerted. If you drag it all the way down to the bottom, you’ll have disabled it entirely.
714I am getting the following error message: PRODUCE REVIEW ACHIVE-file not found error.
DWR does NOT alter the attribute of document (day its set at read only), so while it can be processed in place it does not get copied for review, production or archival.  You can run in the Admin tab the VERIFY DOCUMENTS function or look at the process logs for list of these type of documents. Another option is to selectively find the source documents, reset their attributes using windows and reprocess or try to bulk change the attributes of your entire collection and reprocess. Also, you may want to check the exception log from when you processed the collection to see if it identified this error at that time.
715When converting to an image, I get “no application associated with file” error.
Windows (and DWR) rely on you having a mapping for each file extension for printing (printto). You may use the Setting » Custom Print settings to use wordpad as your print application. For pre Vista OS, use the Control Panel » Folder Options to setup print to a file type. For the more order OS you may need a 3rd party tool such as file type manager 2 http://frank.zinepal.com/ For a vista or newer os to map jpg to an image try: “C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe” “C:\Windows\System32\shimgvw.dll”,ImageView_PrintTo /pt “%1″ “%2″ “%3″ “%4″ AFTER YOU RESET THE APPLICATION clear the errors and set the docs to re-image. IF YOU CONTINUE TO HAVE PROBELEMS go into Control Panel » Printers  and select the DWR printer as your default printer
716When I am in productions view the size is not persistent.
You can try to install another active X/IE view installed ActiveX tiff viewers  Brava and Alternatiff.  You will need to map to open with instead of QVP.
717My production seems to hang.
It is possible that there is an open dialog box waiting to be dismissed.  DWR should dismiss, however, a few may not time out. Examples include: 1) word print in read only box 2) word version is older than current version of word (there is a MS security registry hack to bypass this) 3)OFFICE doc password protected file waiting for pw 4)word doc trying to print outside of print area may be waiting on your ok.
718I have encountered a dialog box that opens and will not time out, allowing processing to progress.
You can install a 3rd party application such as http://www.autohotkey.com/ to attempt to close these dialog boxes.  DWR is continuously updating the product to handle more and more dialog boxes.
719I tried to OCR a processed collection and I received a message that > the ThunkServer could not be started and to check for the .exe and the > presence of a certain .dll.
On the thunksever\OCR , if the Digital WarRoom LLC\Workgroup\OCR\Thunk folder is missing or empty, you’ll get that error. You may not have permissions to start that “server”. If that’s the case, running DWR as admin should fix it. You can also try manually starting the thunk server (this should only be on 64 bit machines)
720Why does the OCR stop before index\ocr is complete?
If the OCR engine hangs up on a particular file, it will shutdown DRW. All the files it has hit before then will have OCR. You can then 1)re-index with OCR turned off 2)attempt to determine which image caused the crash (the previous good image should have been listed before the crash.  temporarily remove it from the collection and the reprocess it later. PHASE II you may be running out of memory in your terminal services session and should run the indexing attempt directly from processing server NOT from a terminal session. OR try and get rid of some of the exotic file types when you index.

Productions

801What are the specs for a .dat load file?
  • The .dat file format can be used to bring in data to concordance (and DWR) that the concordance load file did not handle. It is key to taking in native data.
  • Note, if the OCR path is not in the load file (or if it is and you don’t use it), you can place the OCR text in the same folder as the images provided and you and it should be have the same way. DWR will do a QC of the load file header when you brining it. However, you can use a tool like iconvert to QC the whole load file by converting it to another load file type (i.e. go .opt to lfp) and reporting any errors to the other side to fix.

Troubleshooting (errors codes)

901Why can’t I see my matter that I know is on my external drive – E drive?
We recommend that you not put your matter (\DWR folder) on an external media.  If you re-attach the media, even if gets the same drive letter, you may encounter issues.  If so, we suggest you do the following. 1) stop and restart sequel server using task man 2) find the matter 3) archive the matter and move it local to your DWR install (c or D drive typically.)
902I am getting the following message during installation: Error 1722.
You already have a version of HASP (software license key) software installed that is incompatible with the HASP software in the DWR package. There may be a possibility of an older version of Encase. You should uninstall the HASP drivers or offending software package.  Then reboot and try the install process again.
903When I try to connect to a matter, I get “unable to locate data at the path specified” error.
The path points to the C drive on DWR WorkGroup computer that is expected. On the server, share out the DWR folder. Then go to Admin » Change Repository Location… and change it to use \\machinename\DWR as the path prefix. Then you need to restart Designate and you should be able to see the documents.
904Why am I unable to create a new DB (matter) on my F drive?
First, check to make sure you have write permissions on the F drive AND make sure the drive is NOT compressed (the files folders will be blue in windows).
905When I am producing or adding documents, nothing happens. Also, I am in WorkGroup and was challenged for a license key.
Start by checking task manager, but it is likely someone else is using the workgroup admin license.
906My install or upgrade appears to be in a state where I can no longer un-install or reinstall.
Empty your temp directory and try to uninstall and then reinstall one last time.  The installer may have been interrupted or there may have been windows (or network) upgrades that may have affected the installation.  Reinstall the software on a computer with the same OS (i.e. Windows 7) as the affected computer.  Rename the program folder in the affected computer “C:\Program Files\Digital WarRoom LLC\WorkGroup_old”.  Place the new folder in this same path (adjacent to your “old” folder.  Unregister and re-register both dlls in the redemption folder C:\Program Files\DigitalWarRoom LLC\WorkGroup\Redemption .  Create a NEW shortcut for the digital warroom.exe.
907My software appeared to stop working with no noticeable error messages.
You may have encountered some OS, security or environment issues. Go to Start » Run » “event viewer” select the event viewer program. Select windows events and look for issue that may have occurred at the time when you first noticed the issue.
908I want to use console Mode.
To run the tool in console mode and try to capture some better errors messages using Open a command prompt first. Then — cd “c:\Program Files\Digital WarRoom LLC\Pro” “Digital WarRoom.exe” /console /log: c:\dwrlog.txt if you want a dump log instead, change or add /log:C:log.txt -caution this log could get very large.
909I receive the following error dialog at launch of DWR Pro: “Application Error > Configuration system failed to initialize > Settings.Designer:cs:line 45; DwrRemoteProgram.cs:line147″.
It’s possible something may have become corrupted in the user settings configuration, so the first thing to try is deleting the user settings folder. The location of the folder depends on the OS.  In Windows 7 it can be found here: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Digital_WarRoom_LLC Delete the entire “Digital_WarRoom_LLC” folder.
910I experienced the following: Create failed for database XXXX.
We suggest that you go to \DWR folder. If you have auto compression set on the database folder, you must turn the auto compression off. You can tell if the folder text appear blue in windows that it is auto compressing.
